Personal Statement
My name is Kristr Ford, and if there is anything I am sure to bring to any team, it’s my will to never remain the same. I am a passionate and dedicated student-athlete with a genuine love for Track and Field, and the persistence to consistently move forward—no matter how small the step. I’ve been captivated by this sport for more than half of my life, and with every stride I take out of the thousands taken and the thousands more to take, I have picked up something valuable along the way.
Running has never been just a sport to me, but a space where growth has no limits. Every stride, every race, and every setback builds a forward momentum for me, teaching me resilience,
patience, and the value of consistent progress. With this sport, I've developed the ability to keep pushing and an appreciation of consistent development.
And that appreciation and drive for growth extends beyond Track and Field. Whether it’s other areas I enjoy like art and design, music, dance, or architecture, I find myself eager to refine my skills and produce the best of what I have from within as often as I can. Although architecture, an area I love and genuinely appreciate from an outsider’s viewpoint, is something I lack objective
knowledge of, it's something I earnestly wish to grasp knowledge and true understanding of—from both an artistic and structural perspective. Like Track and Field, these endeavors
similarly challenge me to push my limits while allowing me to grow alongside many others working towards improvement themselves.
For me, Track and Field isn’t simply about speed; it’s about discipline, patience, and growth. That’s why I love it. I’m well aware of my imperfections as a person and an athlete as it stands,
but who says this is all I can be? Every challenge I’ve faced, every opportunity I’ve missed, every lesson I’ve learned, has shaped me into the athlete I am today; and I know there is only more ahead of me, more that will shape me into the athlete I can be tomorrow.
